Sharjah 24: Salem Ali bin Darwish, Director of Government Communication Department at the Department of Statistics and Community Development (DSCD), confirmed the launch of the first edition of the Regional Forum for Data and Community Development, on Wednesday, at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre.
The forum aims to enhance the use of data in improving the quality of life and implementing development projects, and will be held for two days, October 9 and 10. In addition the forum is a vital platform that brings together experts from various sectors to discuss the growing role of data in shaping the future of societies.
In exclusive statements to “Sharjah 24”, he pointed out that the participation in the first day of the forum included 60 speakers distributed across 4 main platforms, and it also includes more than 24 training courses presented by the most prestigious international universities and training institutes, which focus on practical applications for using data in implementing development projects.
He added that the forum provided opportunities for participating countries to showcase their experiences in using big data in developing and implementing various development projects, noting that this event constitutes a starting point towards enhancing regional cooperation in the field of data and community development.
