Sharjah 24: Sharjah Media City (Shams) has successfully concluded the "Shams Ramadan" Esports Tournament, which took place at the Shams Business Centre from March 8 to 14, 2025. With a total prize pool of AED 100,000, the tournament attracted over 700 professional and amateur players from both inside and outside the UAE, competing in "FIFA 25," one of the most popular esports games.

Celebrating the Winners

During the tournament’s final day, the top-performing teams were honoured. The championship title for "FIFA 25" was claimed by the duo of Ali Al Hammadi and Muhannad Al Masmari. The second-place team, consisting of Mohammed Ahmed and Mohammed Al Hammadi, also received recognition, as did the third-place winners, Ahmed Al Suwaidi and Rami Saad.

Alya Ali Al Suwaidi, Director of Content and Innovation at Sharjah Media City (Shams), emphasised that the "Shams Ramadan" Esports Tournament is more than just a competition—it serves as a platform for building a strong gaming community. She highlighted that this initiative is part of Shams’ ongoing efforts to promote esports, demonstrating the city's commitment to fostering innovation and modern sports while strengthening the UAE’s position as a global esports hub.

The tournament received extensive media coverage, including TV broadcasts and social media features by prominent local influencers. Additionally, the matches were streamed live on Shams’ official YouTube channel and the "Shams Gaming" Twitch account, generating high viewership and significant audience interaction. This level of engagement reflects the rapid growth of esports in the region.

Players Praise the Organisation and Prize Pool

Participants expressed their appreciation for the tournament's professional organisation, noting that it provided a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills and connect with fellow gamers from across the region. Many also praised the substantial prize pool, which ranks among the largest in the region, further solidifying the tournament’s reputation as a premier esports event.
