Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Charity International (SCI) has allocated 10.1 million dirhams in cash assistance during the first nine months of this year, benefiting 7,061 low-income individuals, including the elderly, divorcees, and widows not receiving government aid. This initiative aims to ensure a decent standard of living for these vulnerable groups.
Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem, Executive Director of the SCI, emphasised that the Charity relies on the zakat and charitable contributions of benefactors to support families in need. The Charity maintains records of numerous widows, orphans, and needy families, providing them with regular monthly assistance based on individual needs determined by the assistance committee.

Monthly aid is distributed to eligible cases registered at the Charity's main office and its branches in Al Madam, Al Dhaid, Kalba, Khorfakkan, and Dibba Al Hisn. September saw the highest monthly expenditure, totaling 1.165 million dirhams, followed closely by August at 1.163 million dirhams. Bin Khadem highlighted the association's commitment to improving the living conditions of those in need while respecting beneficiaries' privacy through an online application system.

He expressed gratitude to the generous donors whose contributions make this support possible and encouraged continued donations to enhance the Charity 's programmes aimed at fostering social solidarity within the community.
