Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Civil Aviation Department (SCAD) celebrated UAE Civil Aviation Day, an annual event honouring the UAE's remarkable achievements in aviation. This year's celebration aligns with the "We Love Our Skies" campaign launched by the General Civil Aviation Authority under the theme "Future Prospects for the UAE Aviation Sector." It also coincides with the 92nd anniversary of the first aircraft landing in Sharjah on October 5, 1932.
The festivities included various events, with the department participating in a job fair organised by the General Civil Aviation Authority at Al Ain Municipality to showcase career opportunities in the aviation sector. Brochures detailing available job openings and souvenirs were distributed to high school and university students.
Additionally, a special event for Civil Aviation Department employees was held at the main building, featuring workshops in collaboration with the Sharjah Calligraphy Museum and the Sharjah Archaeology Museum. A photo exhibition highlighting the history of aviation in Sharjah was also organised in partnership with Al Mahatta Museum, alongside raffles and souvenir giveaways for attendees.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Essam Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Civil Aviation Department, remarked, “This year's celebration of UAE Civil Aviation Day represents the many achievements of our nation in the aviation sector, reflecting the vision of our wise leadership towards excellence, sustainability, and innovation.
