During the initial session, Nadine Khaled (Egypt) emphasised the significance of script length in training, tailored to the participants' experience and the workshop's duration.
Husam Massadi (Tunisia) highlighted the benefits of short scripts in actor and director training, providing them with creative freedom. Lina Al Rawaas (Syria) highlighted the impact of short performances as a valuable training resource and a basis for creativity in theatre.
The second session featured contributions from Walid Daghsani (Tunisia), Dr Lahcen Hsaini (Morocco), and Dr Youssef Mjegane (Algeria), who provided insights on short plays in theatre training.
During the performances, the audience watched three plays: Thirst by Eugene O'Neill, directed by Jassim Al Marashda; The Official Suit, inspired by a work of Dario Fo, directed by Eyas Khaddour; and Shakespearean Pieces, adapted from two of Shakespeare's plays and directed by Faisal Musa. Following each play, there were discussions that carefully reviewed the performances and directing techniques.
On Tuesday, 1st October, the festival will conclude with the announcement of the winners.
