Sharjah24: Sawsan Al Amiri, the Head of the Health Awareness and Education Department at the Ministry of Education, has recently unveiled an exciting initiative called the "Superhero Program.". This program is set to be implemented in both public and private schools throughout the cities and regions of Sharjah. The program offers various initiatives and activities to encourage a balanced lifestyle and effectively manage diabetes.
This program is organised by the Friends of Diabetes Association which operates under the Health Education Department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
She stressed that in addition to providing diabetes-specific support services to students, the program also provides community-wide and family-oriented preventative activities to encourage good lifestyle choices and ease the burden of diabetes on people.
In her statement to “Sharjah24”, Al Amiri added that the campaign and initiative will begin in September at the start of the school year and extend until June 2025. She also continued that this program is designed to be sustainable, thus it has a thorough timetable with activities happening every month.
Concluding her statement, she emphasised that all students in Sharjah and its cities, including Khorfakkan and Al Dhaid, as well as those in public and private schools, are the focus of the initiative.
