Sharjah 24: A press conference was held by the Emirates School Education Foundation (EFSE) to discuss the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.
The conference was attended by Sara bint Yousif Al Amiri, the Minister of State for General Education and Advanced Technology, and the EFSE President. It took place at the Emirates Towers.

Dr. Omar Al Dhaheri, Acting Executive Director of the School Operations Sector, has announced that all schools are prepared to accept children for the 2023–2024 school year.

Dr. Omar Al Dhaheri has stated that the week of August 21 was the beginning of staff training and the beginning of student reception. On Monday, August 28, 2023, a new school year will begin.

He went on to say that a select number of UAE schools had been selected in the previous school year to pilot a new and experimental teaching concept named "Generation Schools." In this model, the national and American curricula are combined with the expertise of international education service providers.

He also mentioned that in the upcoming school year (2023-2024), the Foundation will expand its "Generation Schools" concept to include eight more publicly funded schools, bringing the grand total to eighteen.

Compared to the previous school year, enrolment at "Generation Schools" more than quadrupled, from roughly 5,900 students to over 13,000. Keep in mind that these schools have limited seating capacity for registered students.
