“Salt and Marine Fishing Festival 11” kicks off

Sharjah 24: Mohammed Abdullah Al Dhahouri, Head of the Events and Activities Committee at Dibba Al Hisn Salt and Marine Fishing Festival, announced the participation of more than 50 exhibitors in the 11th edition, which kicked off on Thursday. His Excellency Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), inaugurated on Thursday, the 11th edition of the Dibba Al Hisn Salt and Marine Fishing Festival, organised by Dibba Al Hisn Municipality, in cooperation with the Municipal Council and SCCI.
Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Mohammed Abdullah Al Dhahouri said that the festival, inaugurated by His Excellency Sultan Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SCCI, will continue for 4 consecutive days.

Al Dhahouri added that the festival, organised by Dibba Al Hisn Municipality in cooperation with the Municipal Council and SCCI, includes the participation of more than 50 merchants, salt shops, productive families, and home license holders, in addition to more than 10 government departments and institutions.

The Chairman of the Events and Activities Committee confirmed that the festival includes, over the course of 4 consecutive days, many workshops on the salt industry in its different types, in addition to workshops on traditional marine industries with the aim of teaching children the professions of their fathers and grandfathers, in addition to heritage events and popular folklore.

The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by His Excellency Khamis Al Suwaidi, Advisor at His Highness Sharjah Ruler Office; His Excellency Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture; His Excellency Ahmed bin Yarouf Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Dibba Al Hisn; His Excellency Talib Abdullah Al Yahyaei, Director of Dibba Al Hisn Municipality; and a large crowd of officials and residents of the Eastern Region.
