The curtain came down on the 12th edition of the Dibba Al Hisn Al Maleh and Fishing Festival, organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dibba Al Hisn Municipality, with the participation of many local departments, institutions, craftsmen, productive families, and local shops.
Al Dhahouri confirmed that the festival, held on Al Hisn Island over four days, attracted a large audience exceeding expectations. The event celebrated the fishing profession and introduced visitors to its deep-rooted significance in the region.
Speaking to “Sharjah 24,” Al Dhahouri highlighted that the festival featured a wide variety of activities, including children’s and public competitions, folkloric and traditional performances, sea chants, a live fish auction, and demonstrations of Al Maleh production by specialists. A dedicated market for selling Al Maleh and dried fish also drew strong interest from residents and visitors keen to purchase the finest varieties of Al Maleh and marine fish.
