Sharjah 24: Within the framework of enhancing institutional cooperation between Al Qasimia University (AQU) and Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, the Deanship of Student Affairs at AQU organised an intensive training workshop on first aid methods.
The workshop was held at the university’s headquarters in Sharjah, on Sunday, and comes as part of the ongoing efforts to provide students residing in the dormitory during the summer vacation with basic skills to ensure public safety. 

The workshop included a series of practical and theoretical activities that aimed to teach students how to provide first aid effectively.

This workshop comes as part of a series of activities organised by AQU within the framework of the Deanship of Student Affairs’ objectives to enhance practical knowledge and applied skills among its students, which contributes to better preparing them to face future challenges in various fields. 

The workshop was presented in cooperation with Kuwait Hospital, one of the health services institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, reflecting the university’s commitment to providing integrated and comprehensive training for its students.

During the workshop, students received detailed training on how to deal with emergency situations, including resuscitation techniques, how to deal with various injuries, and providing the necessary first aid until medical teams arrive. 

The lecturers from Kuwait Hospital provided valuable information on how to quickly assess emergencies and first aid procedures, enhancing students’ ability to act effectively in critical situations.

For their part, a number of participating students expressed their appreciation for the opportunity given to them for practical training, stressing that the workshop provided them with valuable skills that could be crucial in emergencies. They praised the importance of the training in qualifying them on how to deal with emergencies effectively, which enhances their confidence in their ability to act quickly and correctly when needed.

Ahlam Bin Jarsh, Assistant Director for Student Affairs at AQU, pointed out that this workshop reflects the university’s commitment to providing training programmes that meet students’ needs and enhance their practical skills. She added that the Deanship of Student Affairs seeks to work towards providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure their safety and the safety of others.

She touched on the importance of practical training in preparing students to face emergencies, and stressed that cooperation between AQU and health institutions plays a crucial role in qualifying the new generation to deal with the challenges they may face in their daily lives.
