Sharjah 24: Al Qasimia University in Sharjah, through its Deanship of Student Affairs, launched a community volunteer initiative called "Eid is Sweeter with You" to bring joy and happiness to hospitalised children during Eid. This initiative, conducted in partnership with Al Qassimi Women's and Children's Hospital, focused on approximately 70 children who were unable to celebrate Eid with their families due to their health conditions.
A student delegation from Al Qasimia University, comprising 10 female students, visited the children's ward in the hospital. This humanitarian gesture, filled with love and generosity, involved distributing gifts to the children to bring happiness to their hearts and smiles to their faces during the blessed days of Eid Al Adha. The initiative aimed to instil the values of volunteering and humanitarian work in the students while promoting social responsibility by sharing the festive spirit with the children through gifts, thus contributing to their joy and leaving a positive impact on the children and the community.
Ahlam bin Jarsh, Assistant Director for Female Student Affairs, stated that the initiative "Eid is Sweeter with You" embodies the values of generosity and social cohesion that align with the university's goals. The participation of the students in this event was not just voluntary work but a message of solidarity and care towards the dear children who could not spend Eid with their families due to their health conditions.
She added that the students showed enthusiasm, interaction, and pride in this initiative, which reinforced the values of solidarity and brought happiness to the faces of the hospital's young patients. Ahlam Bin Jarsh further mentioned that the initiative aligns with the university's efforts and objectives to enhance community awareness and positive interaction between students and society, especially during festive days. It is not only an opportunity to spread joy but also a means to instil noble human values in the students and ensure the continuity of the spirit of giving and compassion in the Emirati society as a principle of social responsibility embraced by Al Qasimia University.
