Sharjah24: The Ministry of Health and Prevention representative office, in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, organised the 2024 awareness campaign for the prevention of heat fatigue and diseases at the Dibba Al-Hisn Cultural Centre, which drew approximately 300 workers from various institutions in the city.
Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al-Jarwan of the Ministry of Health and Prevention's representative office in Sharjah indicated that the campaign, which involved a significant number of government departments and private sector organisations, has ended its activities in various Eastern Region towns. The campaign began in Kalba, went to Khor Fakkan, and ended in Dibba Al-Hisn.
He told Sharjah 24 that the campaign raises awareness of the dangers of heat fatigue and how to treat it, which coincides with the noon work ban. He stated that the programme offers free medical checks to employees, including eye and dental check-ups, as well as readings of critical indicators such as blood pressure and blood sugar levels. It also guarantees that workers get the materials they need.
Abdul Rahman Al-Nabouda of the Department of Municipal Affairs stated that the department collaborates with campaign organisers to coordinate with the emirate's nine municipalities to provide workers at various campaign sites, spreading awareness and alleviating burdens through free medical examinations and distribution of materials to beneficiaries.
