Sharjah 24: Dr. Ali Obaid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Kalba Parents Council, stressed the council's keenness to spread awareness among students and parents on various issues, through workshops, lectures and educational seminars that it organises throughout the year.
The Council, part of the Department of Suburbs Affairs, organised an awareness lecture on "Precautionary Measures During Crises and Natural Disasters" in collaboration with Sharjah Police.
The lecture, presented by Lieutenant Colonel Fahd Abdullah Al Laghai, Director of Wadi Al Helo Police Station, was attended by Dr. Ali Obaid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Kalba Parents Council, Abdullah Ghanem, Chairman of the Kalba Neighbourhoods Suburb Council, along with various officials, students' parents, and city residents.
Al Zaabi stated that the lecture is part of a year-round series of awareness programmes and activities aimed at educating the public and raising awareness across different segments of society.
He explained to Sharjah 24 that the lecture covered various preventive measures for crises and natural disasters. He noted that the recent flood crisis was used as a case study to emphasise the importance of cooperating with relevant authorities during such events.
Al Zaabi added that, alongside the lecture, the Council awarded prizes to the winners of the short story competition, which was held to enhance students’ writing skills.
