Sharjah24: At the conclusion of the fourth session of the third term of the Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), the General Secretariat in Sharjah witnessed the release of the tenth issue of the quarterly magazine "Little Parliamentarian." This important initiative aims to enhance parliamentary awareness among young generations in the Arab world.
The tenth issue, consisting of 95 pages, covered a variety of topics, including literature, stories, science, innovation, education, and social issues. In the opening article titled "A Continuous Journey," Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of APC and Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, noted that the third term of the parliament was filled with the contributions and activities of the child parliamentarians during the regular parliamentary sessions and other accompanying events. He emphasised that the parliamentary journey continues as the baton is passed to the fourth term, with collaboration and continuity as the enduring theme resonating among Arab children in villages, cities, and across the Arab world.
In the news section, the magazine provided comprehensive coverage of the parliament's activities and events, including the major activities carried out during the term. The Spotlight page featured Shukran Hussein, a member of APC from Egypt, highlighting her achievements as a star and author and as the first young broadcaster to conduct an interview under the roof of the Egyptian Parliament.
The parliamentary culture pages were rich with topics presented by parliament members. These included "A Legal Perspective for an Innocent Childhood" by Ahmed Al-Farmawi from Egypt, "Education is a Right for Children" by Lakird Toba and Lakird Taqwa from Algeria, "Self-Development and Overcoming Challenges" by Ahmed Al-Bermashti from Egypt, and "My Experience in APC" by editor Lujain Al-Ameri from Oman, among others.
The tourist editor's pages focused on Saudi Arabia, exploring its regions, famous sites, customs, landmarks, history, culture, and traditions. The Interviews and Investigations page featured an extensive and valuable interview with the Jordanian Minister of Social Development, Wafaa Bani Mustafa, conducted by Naba Kaid Al-Halaiba, a member of the Arab Parliament for Children, and another interview with talented artist Fay Al-Najjar conducted by Mennen Anas Qais from Iraq.
The Issues pages discussed six topics scientifically and meticulously, including "Rights Under Threat," "Childhood Poverty," "Children and the Challenges of the Digital Age," "Children's Interaction with Technology," "Child Labor: Innocence Behind Walls," and "Making Friends from Different Screen Perspectives."
Al-Barout praised the exceptional quality of the tenth issue of "Little Parliamentarian" magazine and emphasised the importance of this parliamentary initiative in raising awareness and educating Arab children. He commended the ongoing cooperation and collective efforts that contribute to building a knowledgeable and aware future generation throughout the Arab world.
