APC boosts Arab children participation in media creativity

The twelfth issue of the Little Parliamentarian magazine represents an important step forward in this unique cultural project, which has grown to become an important platform for young voices in the Arab world. It reflects the dreams of Arab children and aligns with Sharjah’s commitment to empowering kids and enhancing their roles in society and development.

At the start of the meeting, Al Barout welcomed all members of the editorial board and emphasized that the magazine serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and culture that truly reflects the dreams and voices of children in the Arab world. He encouraged creativity and boldness in writing, inviting everyone to use their experiences and skills in preparing content for the magazine, while also emphasizing the importance of participating in training offered by the APC.

Al Barout highlighted the significant responsibilities the editorial board has. This includes improving the content of the magazine and exploring members' interests in various creative fields like culture, writing, sports, and more, to help shape a generation that is knowledgeable and media savvy.

During the meeting, Dr. Haidar Waqi Allah, the editor-in-chief, discussed the essential guidelines for writing articles and explained how to work on different sections of the magazine. He noted that the magazine is not just a way of sharing ideas but also a vital platform for helping children think critically and learn about important values.

Marwa Al Suwaidi, a well-known media personality, then presented the different sections of the magazine, which cover topics like current issues, parliamentary culture, literature, science, and creativity. She pointed out the importance of adding fresh topics that reflect the life experiences of Arab children today, especially concerning technology, education, health, children’s rights, and community involvement. She also stressed the need for children to have a space where they can voice their thoughts and dreams.

The young members of the editorial board reviewed previous magazine issues to understand the style and content better and to suggest improvements that resonate with their interests. They are actively gathering ideas for the upcoming issue from current members, children in the Parliamentary Club, and kids across the Arab world, and they are carefully reviewing these submissions to pick the best ones for publication.

Finally, the child editors will participate in specialized training focused on media and journalism to help them enhance their skills in writing, editing, and expressing themselves. This training will help them become capable of producing high-quality content that meets professional standards and reflects the growth of the magazine.
