The session will take place at the headquarters of the Sharjah Consultative Council and will focus on the theme "Social Responsibility of the Member of Parliament." The session will be chaired by Jinan Al-Sharif, President of the Arab Parliament for Children.
65 children, representing 16 Arab countries, are expected to deliberate on various topics pertaining to the development of their skills and abilities, engagement with their communities, and the cultivation of their sense of responsibility towards serving their countries.
The upcoming fourth session builds on past discussions among parliamentary members, which have delved into crucial topics such as the child’s right to decision-making, sustainable efforts for climate action, the perspective of Arab children on artificial intelligence, and the social responsibility of parliamentary members.
It is worth noting that the initial session of the Arab Parliament for the Child addressed themes related to technology and future prospects, the child’s right to education, and the child’s entitlement to health care.
The second Parliamentary summit focused on significant topics including innovation, the future landscape, the role of children in promoting societal peace, sustainability, future perspectives, and the culture of food security.
Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for the Child, emphasized that the consideration of parliamentary members' social responsibility underscores the Parliament's commitment to empowering children in the construction of their societies and bolstering their constructive influence on Arab culture. He further highlighted that this endeavour is part of a continuous initiative to enhance parliamentary awareness and inspire children to actively engage in public life, thereby contributing to the reinforcement of tolerance values and social responsibility among future generations.
