Sharjah24: Sharjah’s Department of Awqaf (Endowments) has introduced new smart devices aimed at facilitating contributions to its charitable and developmental projects. This move showcases the department's commitment to utilising the latest digital technologies to improve financial operations' efficiency and streamline processes. These innovative devices allow donors to easily contribute using credit cards and e-wallets. They are designed to offer a smooth and secure experience, encouraging more people to donate to endowments and increasing their trust in digital payment methods.
Recently, the department launched three types of devices. The first is the Quick Response (QR) device, called (Scan and Contribute), developed in partnership with Sharjah Digital. This device is currently available in ten locations, including Ibn Uthaymeen Mosque, Bin Dalmouk Mosque, the Sharjah Foundation for Quran and Sunnah in Sharjah City and Al Dhaid, the Housing Department in Sharjah, Sharjah Municipality, City Centre Al Zahia, Tasheel Centre in Dasman, Kuwait Hospital, and Al Waha Centre.

The second device, (Swipe and Contribute), was introduced in collaboration with the Central Finance Department and links payment methods to the Collection Platform. It is now available in over twenty mosques across the emirate, including Imam Ibn Al-Jawzi Mosque, Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi Mosque, King Faisal Mosque, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Mosque, Al-Fath Al-Mubin Mosque, Al-Rahimoon Mosque, Al-Siddiqeen Mosque, and Martyr Sami Al-Marzouki Mosque, among others. The department has also launched an initiative allowing benefactors to contribute to the purchase of these devices, which will be distributed as endowments.

The latest addition is the (Smart Donation Counter), featuring a range of endowment projects for donors to choose from. This device is currently available in Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal Mosque and Sharjah Ladies Club, with plans for future expansion.

His Excellency Taleb Ibrahim Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Awqaf, stated that these new devices are part of a comprehensive digital transformation strategy aimed at sustaining endowments by enhancing the collection and efficient management of contributions. He highlighted the crucial role of digital transformation in achieving financial sustainability by reducing operational costs and improving data processing accuracy and speed. This transformation also enables the department to monitor and allocate contributions according to donors' preferences, ensuring optimal use of resources.

In conclusion, Al Marri emphasised that these initiatives are part of a broader vision to make endowments more efficient and sustainable, focusing on increasing transparency and credibility in managing donations. He expressed confidence that digital transformation would significantly enhance the department's operations, helping to achieve its charitable and developmental objectives more effectively.
