Sharjah 24: In a move aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of endowment contributions, as well as bolstering transparency and effectiveness with the public, the Sharjah Department of Awqaf launched Quick Response (QR) donation devices for endowment projects across various locations in the Emirate.
These locations include the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, City Centre Al Zahia, Kuwait Hospital, Al Waha Centre, among others, in collaboration with the Sharjah Digital Platform and the Finance Department.
This service distinguishes itself through its ease and speed while maintaining a high level of security and privacy. Its mechanism involves scanning the QR code via a mobile phone and then swiping the credit card on the payment machine to complete the donation process.
Talib Ibrahim Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Awqaf in Sharjah, stated, "We continually seek to collaborate with other entities within an innovative, integrated governmental framework aimed at expediting service delivery and facilitating and accelerating endowment contribution procedures for the public."
He further added, "We plan to expand the opening of various digital payment channels that meet the community's needs within the framework of the ongoing digital transformation and technological advancement witnessed by the United Arab Emirates.”
