Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club (SSDSC) players achieved a great achievement in judo during their participation in the West Asian Judo Championship, which is being held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, from July 15 to 22.
The club's players succeeded in winning 6 gold and 5 silver medals and the third place cup for the "Bara'am" category, with the participation of more than 600 players from various countries of the Asian continent.

The club’s Board of Directors, headed by His Excellency Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Owais, dedicated this achievement to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the great support he provides, which paved the way for the club’s players to reach international podiums.

Al Owais stressed that the judo players were able to present distinguished technical levels that herald a promising future, and training efforts will be strengthened to continue developing the players to achieve more excellence and creativity.

He appreciated the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Council and the UAE Judo Federation for the distinguished support and follow-up and management of the club’s sports training, which effectively contributed to achieving this achievement.

Al Owais praised the efforts of the technical and administrative staff and the players’ parents for joint cooperation.
