The workshop was carried out, on Wednesday, in the studios of the sports channel at the Authority’s headquarters, and was presented by the prominent media trainer and lecturer, Ahmed Bouklah, in which he presented the topic “Features of a Media Speaker”.
The workshop, in which 65 children representing 16 Arab countries participated, included discussion of several important points that contribute to developing children’s skills in the field of media and their self-development, enabling them to speak confidently and effectively in media, and to continue their parliamentary role as representatives of Arab childhood.
The workshop was characterised by an open discussion and exchanging opinions and experiences among the attendees, with the aim of enhancing children’s understanding of the basics of media work and providing them with the necessary skills to express clearly and accurately the issues that concern them and their communities.
Children acquired a wide range of media speaking skills and preparedness, which is essential in developing their personal and communication abilities.
Through participation in the workshop and the rich discussion on the topics presented by the lecturer, children learned how to prepare comprehensively for media appearances, starting from choosing the appropriate outfit and psychological preparation, to enrich their linguistic and cognitive stock.
In this context, their media interviewing skills were enhanced, as they learned how to formulate questions and deal with guests with complete impartiality and respect.
Children were also able to understand the importance of good preparation for topics at hand and ensuring that they obtain comprehensive and accurate information before conducting any media interview, which enhances their level of self-confidence and their readiness to communicate effectively and influentially in the media.
Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of APC, praised the constructive role of the workshop and stressed the importance of promoting such initiatives in motivating children to develop their media and communication skills, which contributes to building a future generation capable of effective participation in community affairs and parliamentary work in general.
Al Barout praised the great and constructive cooperation with SBA and its role in supporting and enhancing APC work, as well as the efforts made by the Authority’s management in supporting the Parliament and achieving the continued success of its activities and sessions.
