APC prepares for session 4, welcoming Arab world representatives

Preparations for this significant event were coordinated by the General Secretariat of the Arab Parliament for Children. The distribution of roles among teams and working committees, as well as the establishment of partnerships with relevant government agencies in Sharjah and other institutions, were prioritized to ensure the seamless organization of a distinguished reception for children.

The program will involve initiatives and activities designed to rehabilitate children further and improve their skills. Additionally, the fourth session of the Arab Parliament for Children will take place.

The session will be held at the headquarters of the Sharjah Consultative Council, which reflects the emirate's vision and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in supporting and strengthening parliamentary work for children.

In a statement, Ayman Othman Al Barout, the Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for Children, underscored the commitment of the United Arab Emirates, particularly the Emirate of Sharjah, to supporting children. He noted that hosting the session is a clear demonstration of this commitment, providing an optimal environment for nurturing children's abilities and skills.

He added that the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah reflects his keenness to enhance the role of children in society and encourage them to participate effectively in decision-making by establishing the role of the Arab Parliament for Children.

He emphasized that the aspirations of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah underscore his dedication to advancing the involvement of children in society and promoting their active participation in decision-making, achieved through the establishment of the Parliament.

The Secretary-General emphasized that Parliament eagerly anticipates a diverse program aimed at enhancing children's skills and preparing them for future leadership roles. The Parliament also acknowledged the invaluable efforts of the dedicated teams and committees in Sharjah, as well as the successful collaboration with government agencies and various institutions to ensure the event's success.

Al Barout emphasized that the Parliament, within the framework of the League of Arab States, is intensifying its efforts to engage with children, listen to their perspectives, and embrace their proposed solutions. This approach aims to find suitable resolutions to the challenges faced by children. Notably, the children in Parliament serve as the official representatives of the country's children and advocate for the Arab child's interests on a broad range of issues. The Arab Parliament for the Child prioritizes the principles outlined in the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Sustainable Development Goals, and all matters essential to the well-being of Arab children across the region, spanning from the ocean to the Arabian Gulf.

He stressed the significance of this event in strengthening Arab connections and facilitating the exchange of cultures and knowledge among children from different Arab nations. He expressed his optimism that this session would build on previous successes and lead to greater collaboration among Arab children.
