Sharjah24: As part of the Tuesday Forum events, the House of Poetry in Sharjah hosted a poetry evening on Tuesday, July 2nd. Three poets participated in this event, taking the audience on a journey through worlds of beauty and creativity.
The evening featured Sudanese poet Mohammed Al-Muayyad Majzoub, Egyptian poet Dr. Abu Ubaida Siddiq, and Syrian poet Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Ateeq. The event was hosted by Reem Ma'rouf, and attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al-Buraiki, Director of the House of Poetry, along with a large crowd of poets, critics, and poetry enthusiasts. The venue was filled to capacity, and the audience interacted enthusiastically with the poets and their poems.

The evening began with an introduction by Reem Ma'rouf, who praised the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for making Sharjah a destination for writers and a beacon for poets. She also commended the Department of Culture and the House of Poetry for their efforts. In her introduction, she said, "Poetry remains idle until adorned with wisdom, and wisdom remains elusive until it finds a home in a poem."

Poet Mohammed Al-Muayyad Majzoub, who presented a collection of texts that delved into the human psyche and transformations of life, opened the readings. In his poem "Messages from a Frail Body to a Dreaming Shadow," the poet engages in a dialogue with himself, posing questions and providing answers, ultimately offering a comprehensive picture of his visions in his text.

Dr. Abu Ubaida Siddiq read texts ranging from wisdom to reflections on life. In his poem "Boredom," he paints successive images of nature's representations, such as clouds, stars, and winds, crafting them into an artistic form that expresses the poet's spirit.

The third poet of the evening, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Ateeq, presented various poems, including one titled "The Seven Corners Quartet." This poem featured a series of poetic images conveying emotional visions, and he began with verses dedicated to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, including:

"Sharjah ignited a moon in my blood,
And Al Qasimi, adorned the horizon as rain.

You were the tale before the union in my passion,
Longed for, and yearned for by a spirit and sweet dreams.

You are eternity in the eyes of the sun since it rose,
Rising proudly, adorned with beauty."

At the end of the evening, poet Mohammed Al-Buraiki honoured the poets and the presenter, awarding them certificates of appreciation.
