A high-level delegation from 'EKTFA,' led by His Excellency Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabih Ahmed Al Tunaiji, the CEO of the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production , visited Tetra's main production facility in Lund, Sweden, to explore advanced technology in dairy production and sustainable packaging solutions. The delegation was accompanied by Nils Högård, the General Manager of Tetra Pak in the Arab region.
This visit shed light on the comprehensive and integrated capabilities offered by Tetra to support sustainable dairy production, including equipping the production facility with the latest processing equipment and sustainable packaging lines. Tetra will also provide support for after-sales services throughout the supply chain. This partnership reflects the efforts of the Sharjah government to establish a fully organic dairy factory and a facility that uses carton packaging, contributing to environmental preservation and promoting sustainability.
During the visit, a new agreement was signed for the installation of the Tetra Top packaging line in the 'Mleiha Dairy Factory,' which is considered one of the most innovative sustainable and recyclable packaging solutions. According to this agreement, Tetra Top® packages will be used for all products in the factory. These packages combine the convenience of glass containers with the modern design of carton packaging. Tetra Top® packages are suitable for refrigerated products and beverages that are stored at home and on the go. Unlike plastic-based packaging, Tetra Top packages are lightweight, space-efficient, and easy to handle during opening, pouring, and drinking.
Furthermore, the two parties signed a second agreement regarding the factory's equipment and distribution operations. Tetra will provide all the necessary facilities, including steam, air, chilled water, and treatment, for the processing equipment and packaging machines in the 'Mleiha Dairy Factory.'
Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabih Ahmed Al Tunaiji, stated, 'We were pleased with the warm welcome and exceptional reception from the Tetra Pak team. We are excited about this partnership with one of the leading companies in the field of food and beverage manufacturing and packaging solutions. Tetra's advanced technologies and commitment to sustainability align perfectly with our vision of providing organic and local dairy products to the people of the United Arab Emirates. This agreement represents an important step for both parties. We are confident that through Tetra's advanced processing and packaging solutions, we will achieve enhanced production efficiency, reduced environmental impact, and superior quality of our products to deliver the best to our customers, while contributing to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in building a strong local company that prioritizes organic production, sustainability, and achieves the highest global quality standards.'
Commenting on the visit and the signed agreements, Nils Högård, the General Manager of Tetra Top in the Arab region, said, 'We are honored to be the chosen partner of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah and EKTFA for the development of the 'Mleiha Dairy Factory,' which is the first of its kind in the UAE, focusing on organic production and sustainability. The high-level visit from the Sharjah delegation to our main production facility in Lund is a clear indication of our commitment to working with our partners to exchange advanced technological knowledge in dairy production and adopt sustainable packaging solutions. Tetra Top has established a prominent position in the field of manufacturing and packaging solutions by providing comprehensive solutions from processing to packaging, ensuring consumers receive fresh products while considering the importance of reducing the environmental footprint through sustainable packaging operations.'
These new agreements, concerning the Tetra Top packaging line and the provision of necessary technologies for production operations and distribution services in the 'Mleiha Dairy Factory,' are part of a previous agreement signed in January of this year to provide technology to the processing facility.
