The inauguration was attended by Dr. Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of Al Dhaid Municipal Council; Salem Abdullah Dhahi Al Kaabi, Director of the SDAL; Hamad Rashid Al Tunaiji, Director of Al Dhaid Municipality; Salem Zayed Al Tunaiji, Chairman of Al Bustan Suburb Council; members of Al Dhaid City Municipal Council; and a group of officials and SDAL employees.
Enhancing Support for Animal Farms
In this context, Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Head of (SDAL), stated: "The opening of the veterinary clinic under the supervision of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah is part of the development project of model farms for the Sharjah government, aligning with the directions of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, towards supporting animal farm owners by providing top-notch medical and treatment services for livestock, birds, and animal species in the area."
Comprehensive Health Facilities
He pointed out that the veterinary clinic, located in North Pasture in the Suhailah area of Al Dhaid, will serve animal breeders of camels, cows, and sheep within the pasture range. It is supported within a medical project by a number of other treatment and health facilities, represented in a veterinary laboratory and pharmacy, noting that the operation of the clinic under the supervision of the SDAL was assigned to Fares Al Khaleej Veterinary Company.
A Successful Partnership Between the Government and Private Sectors
He added that the opening of the clinic is the first in a series of the SDAL's efforts to open avenues for partnerships and cooperation between the government and private sectors in order to meet the medical needs of farms and pastures and to develop the services provided to them based on feedback from service recipients and periodic evaluation data of these services, contributing to the expansion of these effective partnerships and enhancing their community goals.
The new clinic's services include offering examinations, treatments, medications, medical consultations, surgical operations, and administering preventative vaccinations. It is expected that, in its first phase, the clinic will receive between 3 to 5 cases daily, while the veterinary laboratory will conduct analysis for about 10 to 15 samples daily, during the morning hours from 8 AM to 1 PM, and the evening hours from 4 PM to 9 PM, throughout the week except for Saturdays.
Advanced medical devices and added services
The Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah is keen to equip the clinic and laboratory with advanced and modern medical devices, contributing to the provision of the best treatments for animals and conducting high-precision and quality medical examinations to ensure the accurate and rapid extraction of data. The clinic's services include reaching animal farms, pens, and estates for cases that require it, to provide the needed medical service, thereby saving animal breeders time and effort.
