Sharjah24: The Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production EST (EKTFA), affiliated with the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, signed a contract granting "Inntro Agrar Gmbh" the supply of the second batch of cows for Mleiha Dairy Farm (MDF), totaling 1,300 pregnant cows; these cows carry the natural, non-genetically modified A2A2 genes.
The contract was signed by His Excellency Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, the Executive Director of the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production EST.(EKTFA), and Cüneyt Kocakulak, general manager of Inntro Agrar Gmbh, in the presence of His Excellency Salem Abdullah Al Kaabi, Director of Department of Agriculture & Livestock, and a number of senior officials from both sides.

The agreement stipulates that "Inntro Agrar" will supply 1,300 pregnant Holstein cows from the Danish A2A2 breed, carrying females implanted with A2A2 genes. The cows will be delivered via planes equipped with all necessary health and nutritional requirements, insurance, and in compliance with all the specifications and medical examinations approved for the shipment and import of cows in the UAE.

His Excellency Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, the Executive Director of the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production EST.(EKTFA), said: "In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, we continue to establish the core herd at Mleiha Dairy Farm, which consists of 5,000 cows all carrying A2A2 genes. The herd is chosen for being of a pure breed not genetically modified, raised in open natural pastures, which makes the cows enjoy high immunity, less exposure to diseases, and contributes to the production of organic milk and its derivatives, characterized by easy digestion and reaching consumers in its natural form."

He added: "The Emirate of Sharjah aims to steadily and continuously produce safe, healthy, and sustainable food in a unique experience with major strategic food projects, marking a distinction in achieving food health and self-sufficiency. This contract was concluded with ‘Inntro Agrar' due to their extensive experience in this field, enabling them to meet all the requirements and specifications that align with Sharjah's strategy for healthy and safe food."

In his statement, Cüneyt Kocakulak, general manager of Inntro Agrar Gmbh,  said: "We are pleased to collaborate with the Government of Sharjah in achieving its strategy of producing healthy and safe food, according to the best global practices." He pointed out that the cows provided to the Mleiha Dairy Farm are distinguished by producing milk that contains the beta-casein A2A2 protein, which is of significant importance from health and nutritional aspects. This aligns with the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, to provide healthy and safe food, which is considered a priority for the Emirate of Sharjah.
