Sharjah24: In a surprising move, Sharjah Charity International (SCI) paid up the roughly one million dirhams in past dues that had placed sixteen of the inmates in prison. They took this step as part of their Adha Eid campaign to ensure that these individuals were released, allowing them to enjoy the festival with their families.
The Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International (SCI), Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, expressed gratitude to the donors whose generosity enabled this humanitarian endeavour.

He emphasised that the release of the convicts and their families was a result of the kindness of donors, and that it brought them great joy and relief.

As they celebrated the liberation of the prisoners and the arrival of Eid al-Adha, Bin Khadem offered his best wishes to them and their families.

This programme is a component of the "Release Distress" initiative, which runs all year and helped 2,077 people in 2023 for a total of 9.1 million dirhams.

The Adha Eid campaign's success in freeing 16 inmates reinforces the project's overall achievements. Bin Khadem also stated that the project provided material support to the prisoners' families before their release, ensuring they had essential food supplies.

He reiterated his gratitude to the benefactors for their continuous support, which significantly contributed to the success of the association's campaigns and initiatives both domestically and internationally.
