Sharjah 24: The Women's Union Association and the "Joud" volunteer team organized an event in which Sharjah Charity International (SCI) gave Eid presents and delicacies to children and poor families.
The celebration included monetary Eid gifts for 100 youngsters from low-income families as well as sweets for 40 detainee families who were struggling financially.
Maryam Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director of the Volunteering and Community Service Office remarked that the project sought to provide a day of pleasure and delight through games and activities arranged by participating organisations.
The programme was well received and met its purpose of providing enjoyment and assistance to the participating children and families. Participants praised the association's efforts to provide stability and a dignified existence.
