Sharjah 24: The men's basketball team from Sharjah has secured a spot in the coveted golden square of the 2024 UAE Basketball Cup, defeating Dhafra in the quarterfinals with a convincing score of 90-69 in the second leg. The match took place on Wednesday evening at the King Al Sharqawi Hall in Sharjah. This victory mirrors their previous win of 95-67 last Sunday at Dhafra Stadium.
Sharjah dominated the first and second periods with scores of 24-17 and 20-11 respectively. However, Dhafra managed to briefly lead in the third quarter with a score of 22-19 before Sharjah sealed the deal with a final period score of 27-19.
Following this triumph, Sharjah will face Shabab Al Ahli Dubai team in the UAE Cup semi-finals using a home and away format. The King Al Sharqawi's men will play as guests at Shabab Al Ahli on Saturday, May 18th, at the Shabab Al Ahli Club Hall in Dubai, before hosting the return match on Tuesday, May 21st.
