SDTPS receives National Std. Cert. for bus. continuity mgmt. sys.

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey (SDTPS) has recently achieved the prestigious AE/SCNS/NCEMA 7000:2021 certification for Business Continuity Management Systems by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority. After successfully passing all evaluation stages and meeting the necessary standards and requirements, the department has been awarded this certification for system accreditation.
Engineer Hamad Juma Al Shamsi, a member of the Executive Council and head of the department, expressed his deep gratitude for the team's dedication in reaching this important milestone. This achievement is vital for maintaining operations smoothly during times of emergency and crisis. He also affirmed the leadership’s commitment to providing unwavering support to the team, ensuring the continuously delivery of services to the public, regardless of any circumstances.

He also commended the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority for its efforts in raising awareness, strengthening institutional capabilities and assets, and supporting federal and local entities in enhancing their preparedness for effective communication and collaboration during emergencies and disasters. 

This has resulted in the maintenance of a high quality of life and the delivery of community services in accordance with the highest safety standards.

Fatima Al Hussan, Head of the Strategic Planning and Monitoring Office at the Department emphasised that the national standard for business continuity management systems is designed to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of key operations, secure supply chains, and facilitate recovery processes until normal activities are fully resumed.

She mentioned that the system seamlessly combines management operations with other processes, ensuring smooth business continuity and effective communication with suppliers and partners. It also strengthens the necessary capabilities and competencies of individuals in critical roles and aids in maintaining documentation and records related to operations and services.
