This initiative comes in response to the emergency situation caused by a recent unstable weather condition, resulting in heavy rainfall in the area in order to promote community solidarity and cooperation. The "Safe Return" initiative highlights the role of suburban councils in enhancing communication between local entities and the community, and encouraging active citizen participation in improving their local environment and enhancing its services through the development of volunteering and natural restoration.
The efforts of the initiative included comprehensive cleaning operations of streets and affected neighborhoods, in close cooperation with the Sharjah Volunteering Center, affiliated with the Sharjah Social Services Department .
