Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality has affirmed its continued efforts to reduce rainfall accumulations and lessen the effects of severe weather by utilising all available resources, including its fleet of vehicles. This effort seeks to reduce damage, improve traffic flow, and ensure the safety of residents and their assets. The municipality has appointed a specialised crew that works around the clock to efficiently complete fieldwork across all regions of Sharjah.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director-General of Sharjah City Municipality (SM) and Head of the High Committee for Rain Emergencies, emphasised the municipality's commitment to dealing with significant water accumulations in specific areas following heavy rainfall across the country, particularly in the emirate. He praised the municipality's quick response, mobilising committees and staff and declaring a state of emergency to efficiently manage the consequences of the weather catastrophe.

Al Tunaiji commented on the municipality's pre-emptive steps, which included the deployment of field teams and 65 patrols to carry out critical communal and humanitarian responsibilities. These include assisting impacted families with transportation to authorised shelters, assisting stranded individuals in waterlogged areas, removing obstructed cars, and providing assistance to vulnerable groups such as the elderly and others in need in the community.
