Sharjah 24: In preparation for the holy month of Ramadan, Sharjah's Islamic Affairs Department has declared its readiness and finalised all preparations. It has supplied mosques with all the resources they need and assessed them in every city of the Emirate.
The department and its branches across the Emirate have sent maintenance teams and specialised committees to check the mosques' cleanliness, prayer halls' needs, and the outside spaces, including the carpets. In addition to performing preventative maintenance, they checked the HVAC, lighting, and audio systems of multiple mosques.
Furthermore, in the event of the holy month, the department has launched 22 mosques across the Emirate and its suburbs. and its target is to open 30 mosques by the end of Ramadan.
The Emirate of Sharjah has taken this stance, and it is consistent with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, of making it more convenient for the people of the Emirate to visit mosques and practice their religion.
The department also brought up the fact that, in order to accommodate the increased number of worshippers during Ramadan, they had expanded and maintained many women's prayer locations and put up tents as temporary prayer spaces in heavily frequented areas.
In addition, mosques and prayer halls have received newly authorised editions of the Quran, while old and unauthorised editions have been removed by the competent authorities in the country.
