Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department opened, today, Friday, the “Dar Al Salaam” Mosque in the Kshisha 4 area of the Al Rahmaniya Suburb. The mosque can accommodate 500 male and female worshipers.
Built on a total land area of 1,958 square metres, the mosque houses the prayer hall and its service facilities, including ablution area, toilets, and housing for the Imam. The prayer hall can accommodate 500 worshipers, including 100 for the women’s prayer hall. The mosque was built according to the traditional architectural style, topped with a 16-metre-high minaret and four circular domes.
The opening of the mosque comes within the department’s preparations to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, and its keenness to keep pace with the urban development and population increase the region is witnessing, to meet the needs of its residents and enable them to perform rituals with complete ease This is in line with the department’s venerable mission in the emirate and its continuous efforts to translate the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to harness all capabilities to provide a decent life for the residents of the emirate, and to construct all facilities and services that will enhance stability and achieve overall urban renaissance in the suburbs and cities of the emirate.
