This project is part of the department's continued efforts to regulate charitable and humanitarian activities in accordance with legal and security standards as well as foster a culture of responsible and organised giving in the community.
Dr Abdullah Mansour Mohammed, Director of the Charitable Work Department, chaired the meeting, which focused on important concerns relating to donation boxes. He emphasised the necessity of collaborative efforts to maintain proper oversight of donation collections, which improves operational efficiency and prevents infractions that could harm the reputation of humanitarian activity.
The guests emphasised the importance of issuing clear guidelines to relevant organisations as well as encouraging the use of digital donation collection options, such as official apps and electronic platforms.
The meeting concluded with recommendations to unify efforts among stakeholders to ensure the safety and proper use of donations and to enhance transparency in administrative and financial processes. We also presented several development proposals, which we will submit for approval and implementation.
Dr Abdullah Mansour Mohammed highlighted that the meeting reflects the department's commitment to supporting and organising charitable work according to clear standards. He noted that the department monitors all donation-related activities in cooperation with concerned authorities to ensure donations reach their rightful beneficiaries through approved legal procedures.
He stated that the department is responsible for overseeing philanthropic operations in the Emirate. This includes issuing permits, monitoring involved entities, providing technical and advisory support, and collaborating with government and community partners to create a secure and regulated environment for donation collection while also strengthening public trust in official charitable institutions.
