Sharjah 24: Sheikh Salem Al Doubi, Director of Preaching and Fatwa at the Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department, emphasised that Eid Al Fitr is a day of joy and happiness following the completion of the fasting month of Ramadan. On this occasion, Muslims go out chanting takbeer (praising God’s greatness) and tahleel (declaring God's oneness) to perform the Eid prayer. It is also recommended to eat dates before heading to the prayer, exchange greetings, visit relatives, and bring joy to one’s family.

Warm Eid Greetings

Sheikh Salem Al Doubi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr. He prayed to Almighty Allah to bless Muslims with many more joyful occasions and grant the nation continued progress, prosperity, and success in all its endeavours.

Customs of Eid

Speaking to “Sharjah 24,” Al Doubi highlighted that Eid Al Fitr is a joyous occasion when large crowds of worshippers gather in mosques and musallas, expressing their happiness through takbeer and tahleel. He also noted some of the recommended practices of Eid, such as eating before the prayer, dressing in one’s finest clothes, and taking a different route when going to and returning from the prayer.
