Sharjah 24: During its meeting held this morning at the headquarters of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), the Committee for Preparing the Draft Recommendations of SCC prepared the recommendations to be submitted to the Council regarding the policy of the Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority, and it formulated a number of recommendations in support of the tourism sector.
The committee stressed the importance of the recommendations that would integrate with the Authority’s plans and policies in enhancing the successes of the tourism sector, which represents the utmost importance in strengthening the economy of the Emirate of Sharjah and achieving SCC aspirations in accordance with its plans to develop investments in this vital sector.
The meeting was chaired by Jassim Mohammed Al Hanawi Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Committee, and was attended by committee members Dr. Sultan Khamis Al Zaabi, Committee Rapporteur; Ibrahim Muhammad Al Mansouri; Issa Abdullah Al Kalbani; Sultan Ali Al Musafri; Obaid Ahmed Khasaw Al Naqbi; Muhammad Ali bin Salam Al Ketbi; Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, SCC Secretary-General; Saif bin Suef Al Ketbi, Secretary and Islam Al Shiwi, media expert.
During its meeting, the committee formulated a number of recommendations in light of the Council members’ discussion in the previous plenary session devoted to discussing the policy of the Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority, and informing them of the recommendations submitted by the Council members at the conclusion of the Council’s discussion of the Authority.
During its preparation of the recommendations, the committee emphasised the support and empowerment given by SCC to the role of the Authority, which reflects the interest of the wise leadership in the strategic role of tourism in developing the economy, and taking the necessary steps that keep pace with the aspirations of economic development and attracting tourists.
At the end of the meeting, the Committee for Preparing the Draft Recommendations approved the formulation of a number of recommendations dealing with the work, tasks and powers of the Authority in preparation for presenting them to SCC in a subsequent session as part of its work for the first regular session of the eleventh legislative term.
