They were greeted this morning at the wheat farm by Salem Abdullah Al Kaabi, the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock (DAL), together with many managers from adjacent departments.
The department's ongoing efforts have been lauded by the chairman of the council and its members for reflecting the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, to improve and expand Sharjah's agricultural expertise, which in turn helps to ensure responsible and sustainable food security.
They stressed that these programmes would help the economy at large and in neighbourhoods, as ensuring people have access to nutritious food increases the likelihood of expanding the variety of wheat grown in the area and creates chances to boost other industries.
According to the council's chairman, the trip is part of the group's efforts to confirm the significance of agricultural projects in attaining complete sustainable development and to follow up on wheat growing in Mleiha. As part of its plan to become self-sufficient and improve food sustainability, Sharjah is dedicated to improving the agricultural industry.
After the field tour, Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi chaired at the farm the fourth meeting of the Council's bureau as part of the regular session of the eleventh legislative term.
