Sharjah 24: Sharjah Charity International and the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah inaugurated, on Tuesday, the “The Kind Word” Mosque, in Al Mawradah 2 area in Al Soyuh suburb in the city of Sharjah, at a cost of 5.5 million dirhams, with the support of philanthropists.
The mosque was established on an area of 1,078 square metres, and it is one of the major mosques implemented by Sharjah Charity International. The mosque can accommodate 750 worshipers, men and women. It also includes a number of service facilities, and parking lots.
The opening of the mosque was attended by Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charity International; Abdullah Khalifa bin Yaroof Al Saboosi, Chairman of Department of Islamic Affairs; His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International; officials of the two regions.
Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi said that the mosque is one of thepioneering projects, and in light of the joint cooperation programmes with the Department of Islamic Affairs, Sharjah Charity International seeks to establish more mosques.
Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi stressed that the mosque will be added to the list of mosques that the association built with the support and contributions of philanthropists, in different areas in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah.
His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa bin Yaroof Al Saboosi said that the “Kind Word” Mosque, which was built under the supervision of the Department of Islamic Affairs and with funding from the Sharjah Charitable Society, according to the Islamic architectural style mixed with the modern character, is an architectural edifice and a prominent landmark added to the lighthouses of the Emirate of Sharjah filled with its minarets, and its opening comes within the department plan for the current year to make it easier for the residents to perform their worship with ease, and to be a center of radiation and guidance for the residents, and to contribute to achieving family and community stability through sermons and Quran memorization sessions, in continuation of the approach followed by the Emirate of Sharjah, and in line with the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah, who gives the architecture of mosques special attention and care, and follows up and supports their affairs.
Al Saboosi praised the efforts of Sharjah Charity International and donors and their contribution to building many mosques in the emirate to meet the needs of the residents of the areas, especially those that are densely populated.
After the opening of the mosque, the officials of Sharjah Charity International, the Department of Islamic Affairs, and the residents of the region performed the noon prayer, and the attendees exchanged congratulations on the opening of the mosque, as it became ready to perform prayers.
Dr. Salem Al Dubi, Director of the Preaching and Fatwa Department at the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah, gave a speech after performing the prayer, during which he praised the efforts of Sharjah Charity International and the cooperation based on building the Houses of God with the support of philanthropic partners, whose charity and donations resulted in the building of a new House of God.
In conclusion, a shield of honour was presented by His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa bin Yarouf Al Saboosi, to Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi.
