Sharjah 24: In cooperation with the Sharjah Volunteer Centre, the Sharjah Charity International (SCI) will begin distributing Ramadan basket allocations tomorrow, Sunday, with the participation of 200 volunteers who will prepare 5,000 baskets and distribute them to eligible citizen and resident families registered in the society’s lists before the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
Maryam Al Shamsi, Acting Director of the Volunteering and Community Service Office, said that the Ramadan basket project provides basic food supplies to eligible groups prior to the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan. She added that the process of distributing the allocations will take place in cooperation with the Sharjah Volunteer Centre team and aims to provide support and assistance to deserving families during the blessed month of Ramadan, as the basket contains a variety of basic food items that meet the needs of families during the holy month.

She continued that the campaign comes within the framework of SCI’s efforts to enhance social solidarity in society, and reflects its permanent commitment to supporting the most needy groups and bringing joy to their souls. From this standpoint, the association, she added,  calls on all individuals and institutions to support this campaign and contribute to providing care and support to deserving families during the month of Ramadan, expressing her gratitude to the team of the Sharjah Volunteer Centre and their effective role in implementing this campaign and distributing the baskets in an effective and organised manner.

For their part, the team of the Sharjah Volunteer Centre expressed their happiness to participate in this campaign, stressing the importance of providing support to those in need and relieving the burden on their shoulders for the sake of a society in which all members feel happy and joyful during the holy month of Ramadan. They thanked the Sharjah Charity International, which provided them with the opportunity to participate in this campaign, which expresses the values of participation, giving, and social solidarity among different groups of society.
