Sharjah 24: Sharjah Broadcast Authority (SBA) continues to launch the radio programme “The Sent Wind”, which is broadcast during the holy month of Ramadan every year in cooperation with Sharjah Charity International. Through the programme, Sharjah Charity International reviews some of its charitable and humanitarian projects and campaigns to motivate donors to contribute in financing remote areas covered by the association’s work and projects, which reach 110 countries around the world.
His Excellency Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of SBA, said that “The Sent Wind” programme will be part of the programming network for the coming month of Ramadan for the fourteenth year in a row, to confirm that SBA message is not limited to the media role only, but rather extends beyond that to include the humanitarian and social aspects and the promotion of the values of goodness, love and social solidarity.
His Excellency Salem Ali Al Ghaithi added that the fruitful cooperation with Sharjah Charity International has succeeded over the past years in treating patients, building wells, establishing production projects, and building schools, and SBA will continue this role by urging generous donors to donate and contribute to the success of the association projects around the world.
Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International, said that “the Sent Wind” programme represents a distinguished addition to the association’s journey in reaching benefactors, as the programme reflects the credibility followed by the association and the transparency of its projects and campaigns, which prompts donors to contribute to supporting all charitable projects and activities. He pointed out that the programme has achieved great success over the past years and has contributed to financing many medical campaigns and productive and endowment projects, the fruits of which have gone to the needy in the countries covered by the association’s mission.
Bin Khadem pointed out that the donations from “the Sent Wind” Programme contributed to the implementation of the Little Hearts campaigns concerned with performing surgical operations on children with heart diseases. The programme’s donations also contributed to supporting the project to relieve the distress of inmates of penal and correctional facilities who were subjected to executive rulings in cases of financial hardship.
In addition, the programme contributed to the implementation of a package of productive projects that serve as job opportunities and support the empowerment of these groups to rely on themselves and achieve the principle of sustainability in charitable work, in addition to supporting the eye campaigns run by the association to combat blindness and poor vision, as well as supporting kidney failure patients, as a number of compassionate people contributed to developing and supporting the dialysis project to provide tens and hundreds of dialysis sessions for patients registered with the association.
According to the Executive Director of Sharjah Charity International, donors also contributed to providing urgent treatment assistance to patients suffering from chronic diseases. The programme’s episodes, last year, also supported the project of Quran memorisation centres around the world, and the association was able, with the support of philanthropists, to build many memorisation centres in more than one country in Asia and Africa, and to support the project of facilitating the Umrah of workers and school and university students who are unable to pay tuition fees.
Abdullah bin Khadem pointed out that the success of the programme in its past seasons and the interaction of donors prompted the association, in coordination with SBA, to continue its broadcast for the fourteenth consecutive season.
