Sharjah24: The Traffic Forum for People with Disabilities for the year 2024 was organised by the General Command of Sharjah Police, and it was attended by strategic partners from the Municipality of Sharjah and the Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah. The main objective was to foster positive communication with individuals with disabilities, listen to their constructive proposals for the development and enhancement of police services tailored to their requirements and needs.
In attendance were Colonel Mohammed Abdullah Allay , the Director of the Traffic and Licensing Services Centre at the Sharjah Police, Colonel Khaled Mohamed Al-Kay, the Deputy-Director, Colonel Majid Mohamed Al-Nuaimi, the Deputy Director of Vehicle and Drivers Licensing Department, and Colonel Omar Bughanem, the Deputy Director of Traffic and Patrols Department. Additionally, department heads, officers from the Traffic and Licensing Services Centre, media representatives, and various representatives from organisations dedicated to this demographic participated.

Colonel Alai commended the active role played by institutions supporting people with disabilities, emphasising their fulfillment of social responsibilities and the improvement of services directed toward this group. He underscored the significant attention given by the Emirate of Sharjah to people with disabilities, aligning with the directives His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who consistently emphasises the removal of obstacles and the provision of optimal services.

The forum highlighted key traffic services and proposed ways to enhance and develop them through collaboration with strategic partners and institutions focused on people with disabilities. This collaborative effort aimed to address their needs, overcome challenges in obtaining traffic services contributing to the advancement of work, performance improvement, and an overall enhancement of their quality of life.

Concluding the forum, the Head of Traffic and Licensing Services Centre expressed gratitude by honouring the strategic partners for their continual cooperation in these forums and dialogue sessions, acknowledging their role in deriving solutions and ideas that benefit all segments of society.
