Sharjah Police organises Innovation Lab event

Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, the Strategy and Performance Development Department organised the Innovation Lab event under the slogan “Towards a Sustainable Traffic Future”.
The event was held in cooperation with the Central Operations Department, the Traffic and Patrols Department, and the strategic leadership partners from the Department of Statistics and Community Development, Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority , Sharjah Municipality, Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, the Sharjah Digital Department, and the University of Sharjah.

The event was attended by Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; Brigadier Ahmed Al Sarkal, Director General of Police Operations; Brigadier Dr. Ali Bu Al Zoud, Deputy Director of Central Operations; Brigadier General Omar Bu Al-Zoud, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department; Colonel Dr. Sameh Al Halyan, Deputy Director of the Strategy and Performance Development Department; Dr. Engineer Mohsen Balwan, Director of the Traffic Engineering Department at the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority; Professor Dr. Faker Al-Gharaybeh from the University of Sharjah; and a number of specialised officers from Sharjah Police, in addition to representatives of the participating entities.

The event included a dialogue session moderated by Colonel Dr. Sameh Al Halyan, in which Brigadier General Dr. Ali Bu Al Zoud talked about the innovative efforts adopted by Sharjah Police to achieve traffic sustainability, and how to overcome future challenges in cooperation with partners. Dr. Engineer Mohsen Balwan also spoke about how traffic engineering contributes to achieving sustainability, traffic safety, and modern technologies and innovative practices used in the Authority. For his part, Professor Dr. Faker Al Gharaybeh spoke about the role of scientific research centres in finding innovative solutions to social challenges. The laboratory also reviewed the best innovative practices in the world, and the best innovative practices in the field of traffic safety in Sharjah Police. in addition to reviewing the management system of innovation laboratories at the Sharjah Police General Command.

Colonel Dr. Sameh Al Halyan extended his thanks to the participants from the leadership’s strategic partners in the innovation laboratory event, and their role in supporting the efforts aimed at achieving and enhancing community security, their support for the leadership’s initiatives in this direction, and their effective contributions to previous successes and achievements, stressing the importance of holding the innovation laboratories events for their role in providing meaningful opinions and suggestions that contribute to coming up with many innovative creative ideas and implementing them on the ground.
