Sharjah 24: In an exquisite and stunning ceremony at the House of Wisdom, the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) launched the new administrative and financial regulations for sports institutions in the emirate, under the name “Al Hakam” (referee) on Wednesday, February 21st.
In a gesture of loyalty, Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charity International, was honored for his role in chairing the Council from 2016 to 2020, and the expert Saeed Al Ajel for his contribution to the council since its establishment. The ceremony also witnessed the honouring of a large list of success partners in the emirate from entities, institutions and media.
The new regulations aim to unify systems and enhance performance, efficiency and governance at the level of all sports institutions in the emirate, and were prepared in cooperation between the Sharjah Sports Council on one side and the Central Finance Department, the Legal Department of Sharjah Government, and the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, on the other side.
The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charity International; Sheikh Maid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department; Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of the Department of Statistics and Community Development; Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Airport Authority; Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority; Engineer Omar Khalfan bin Huraimel Al Shamsi, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Human Resources; Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council; and a large number of heads of bodies, representatives of government departments, members of the board of directors, public and private institutions and clubs, in addition to employees of the council, representatives of the emirate’s clubs, and the media.
The ceremony began with the rendition of the national anthem, and a documentary film about the Al Hakam, then Issa Hilal A Hazami delivered a speech in which he praised the efforts of the work team that prepared the list, stressing that the wonderful cooperation and coordination between the emirate’s institutions practically embodied the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and said that the new regulation will create a single reference for all sports sector institutions in the emirate.
Nabil Mohammed bin Ashour, Director of the Support Services Department at the Council, gave a speech in his capacity as head of the “Al Hakam” programme team, stressing that the Council seeks, through the regulation, to keep pace with the ambitions and aspirations of the emirate’s sports sector, achieve a tangible shift at the level of the administrative work system and its financial mechanisms, so that the boom witnessed by the sports movement institutions in the emirate and success continue with one reference in all workshops and channels.
After that, a short film was shown about the stages of preparing the regulation and the work team, and then Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the former Chairman of the Council, and expert Saeed Ali Al Ajel were honored, then the ceremony honoured the parties participating in preparing the regulations, the Central Finance Department, the Legal Department of Sharjah Government, Human Resources Department, and Smart Galaxy Solution and Roca Company. The regulation work team, which included: from the Council: Nabil Mohammed Ashour, Abdullah Hussein Al Ali, Hamad Salem Al Bimani, Maryam Sultan Al Muhairi, Alaa Ali Al Naqbi, Hafsa Abdullah Al Ali; and from the Central Finance Department: Counselor Dr. Falah Hassan, Mai Abdullah Sahouh, Hassan Pasha and Omar Hamam; and from the Legal Department: Counselor Saleh Al Zaabi, Counselor Sulaiman Al Hatti, Maid Ali Al Nuaimi, and from the Human Resources Department: Ibrahim Obaid Rubari, Jassim Mohammed Buhandi, Abdul Rahman Abdulaziz Al Khayal.
The ceremony was then continued by showing a film about the Council last year’s achievements and honoring partners from 52 governmental and private entities and media representatives.
