Sharjah 24: Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) announced it will hold its fifth annual forum under the slogan “Appreciation of Volunteer Efforts,” a platform for participants and those interested in exchanging experiences and knowledge and enhancing visions in developing volunteer work and awards.
The forum is scheduled to be held on February 28, 2024, at the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA), from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

The forum seeks to highlight the positive impact of appreciation awards and their role in encouraging individuals and institutions to participate in volunteer work. The forum also aims to shed light on the importance of volunteer work, its leading institutions, and the heroes of volunteer work.

The forum's activities include three educational sessions, where the first session is on discussing "The Importance of Volunteer Awards" through three scientific papers; and the second session includes discussing "Volunteering Awards in the Arabian Gulf" through two scientific papers; while the last session sheds light on the "Volunteering Award in the United Arab Emirates" through discussing three scientific papers.

In this context, Fatima Musa Al Belushi, Executive Director of SAVW and Chairman of the Organising Committee, explained that the agenda of the forum includes the presentation of eight scientific papers, presented by three academic experts specialised in the field of society, in addition to five contributions from leading community agencies in the field of volunteer work, from Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

Fatima Musa Al Belushi appreciated the participation of a number of distinguished entities in this forum, namely the “Sheikh Isa Bin Ali Award for Honouring Pioneers of Voluntary Work”, from the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the “Khaled Al Issa Al Saleh Award for Excellence in Charitable Work” from the State of Kuwait, in addition to contributions from Emirati institutions represented by “Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak’s Programme for Excellence and Community Intelligence”, the “Aoun Award for Community Service”, in addition to the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work.

Al Belushi stressed that the forum is not a random event, but rather a platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge in the field of volunteer work, where specialists and those interested in this field come together to share ideas and experiences to enhance the course of volunteer work in all its forms, as well as keeping pace with modern developments in this important sector. She noted that the slogan of the forum expresses the spirit of dedication that exists in the hearts of volunteers: “Appreciation of Volunteer Efforts”.
