Sharjah 24: More than 122 volunteers from Sharjah Centre for Voluntary Work, affiliated with Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), participated in the “Ninth Sharjah International Tour” organised by Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), from January 26 to 31.
Through Sharjah Centre for Voluntary Work website, SSC invited those wishing to volunteer in the “Ninth Sharjah International Tour” by organising the event that includes participants worldwide. The tour will start in Sharjah and pass through the cities of Khorfakkan, Kalba, Al Dhaid, and Al Hamriyah.
Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of Sharjah Centre for Voluntary Work, stated that the volunteer opportunity falls under the sports field with the aim of contributing to providing organisational and supervisory support in the tour. Al Hammadi added that volunteers continue to register, as volunteering varies according to the regions in which the tour takes place, in addition to “the village” created this year, an event that accompanies the Sharjah Tour located on Khalid Lake.
Al Hammadi confirmed that volunteers (who are between the ages of 18 and 60) in these events, are divided into 4 groups and distributed among the four field volunteer opportunities. They contribute to the organisation with the committees working in the tour and in organising the race itinerary, as well as in organising entry to the tour village.
