Sharjah24: A wide variety of categories have been represented among the 253 applications that have been submitted for the 21st Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW).
Thirty-six government entities, fifteen private entities, seven from the private sector, twenty-seven volunteer teams, ninety-eight individual volunteers, nine families, four senior persons, two individuals of determination, thirty-eight students from universities, and seventeen students from schools were among those who submitted their work. The entries were spread throughout the several prize categories that were available.
The Executive Director of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, Fatima Musa Al Balushi, stated that the number of participants this year indicates the increased interest in volunteering as well as the diversity of the sectors in which people participate.
According to Al Balushi, the jury's panel is getting ready to analyse the projects that have been submitted and choose the winners in the various categories. The panel will determine the winners based on the level of competition and the quality of the projects, in accordance with the criteria and requirements.
