The hosting activities will be held from February 18 to 27, 2024, and the session proceedings are scheduled to be held on February 24, at the headquarters of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC).
Consistently with the objectives aiming at developing Arab children capabilities, and allowing their participation in discussing emerging issues, the Arab Parliament for the Child (APC) announced that the title of its next session will be “Artificial Intelligence through the Eyes of Arab Children”.
Children from the Arab world representing their countries in APC are expected to participate in this session, whereas the topics will address skills and abilities development in the field of artificial intelligence.
Sharjah's hosting of APC third session reflects its firm commitment to providing an environment that encourages the development of children's capabilities, contributing to achieving the goals of the Arab Parliament for Children and developing their talents to represent Arab childhood.
The session will see wide participation from APC members from different Arab countries, where children will be able to participate in educational, cultural and entertainment programmes.
Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of APC, said that APC is committed to promoting the growth and creativity of Arab children, and this session is an opportunity to achieve this goal through the events and programmes that will be held in Sharjah.
Al Barout added that the session will be devoted to an important and interesting topic, which is artificial intelligence through the eyes of Arab children. The topic is a window into a bright future based on artificial intelligence, which constitutes an essential part of the development of the modern world.
Al Barout confirmed that APC realises that children are the pillars of the future, and that understanding them and developing their capabilities in the fields of technology will contribute to building more advanced and innovative societies. He added that shedding light on “artificial intelligence through the eyes of Arab children” reflects APC commitment to directing efforts towards providing an educational environment that contributes to develop their skills and understanding of this important field.
Al Barout affirmed that through the exchange of opinions and discussions between children in this session, APC aspires to enhance positive interaction between children and motivate them to be interested in technology and innovation. He added that investing children’s mental energies and abilities, in the field of artificial intelligence will contribute to building a creative generation that builds the future. Therefore, APC session comes at the right time to shed light on this vital topic and to motivate children to actively participate in shaping their future and to showcase their visions and ideas.
