Sharjah 24: The 24th Sharjah International Show Jumping Championship (SISJC), two-star category, began on Friday, organised by the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, in cooperation with the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, and under the supervision of the International Equestrian Federation.
This is part of the Sharjah International Show Jumping Championships, within three weeks, the first is the Sharjah Nations Cup Championship in the four-star category, which concluded its activities last Sunday.
The second week’s competitions begin, on Friday, and conclude next Sunday, including the main event in the two-star category, the final of young jumping horses, and a qualifying round for riders of the age groups from the regional group VII countries in the International Equestrian Federation.
In the first competition of the two-star championship in the outdoor arena, with the specifications of one round, and its track was designed with barriers reaching a height of 130 cm, during which 34 male and female riders competed.
24 riders succeeded in completing the round without error, and the first place prize was snatched by Hamid Abdullah Al Muhairi, completing the round in a fast time of 52.26 seconds.
Osama Al Zubaibi came in second place after finishing the round in a time of 56.13 seconds. Aya Hamsho won the third place award, with 56.53 seconds.
The winners were crowned by Hamad Salem Al Mahmoud, representative of the Sharjah Commercial and Tourism Development Authority.
Alia Adnan Al Muhairi won the first championship titles, the qualifiers for the cubs category from the group VII countries, and according to the specifications of the two special stages, and its track was designed with barriers reaching a height of 110 cm.
19 male and female riders competed, and 7 riders crossed the two stages without error, led by Alia Al Muhairi, who finished the second stage in a time of 28.05 seconds, and Saleh Mufarrej Al Karbi was crowned second place in a time of 29.41 seconds.
The third place was won by “Setareh” reaching 29.46 seconds.
The winners of this stage were crowned by Daniel Norman, General Manager of the Centro Sharjah Hotel.
The UAE riders from the “Junior” category tightened their grip on the top three places in the qualifications for the “Junior” riders in the regional group VII.
