Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club (SERC) organises the 22nd Sharjah International Show Jumping Championship, the three-star category, sponsored by Longines, the official sponsor of the championship, Sharjah Sports Council, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Sharjah Horse Hospital and Sharjah Sports Channel Cavalor Company, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Majestic Company.
This comes based on the generous directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, to support and sponsor equestrian activities, and under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and, in cooperation with the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation, and under the supervision of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports.

The championship will run for three days from Friday 4 February to Sunday 6 February 2022. The championship is a three-star category championship, with the participation of elite riders from 25 Arab, Western and European countries. 

The organising committee allocated 171900 thousand euros (720 thousand UAE dirhams) as financial prizes for the winners.

320 horses and 200 participating jockeys will participate in the championship.

In addition, the participating countries will include, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Belgium, Egypt, Germany, Ireland, Jordan, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Syria, USA, Kuwait, Palestine, United Kingdom, Iran, Lebanon, Italy, Iraq , Latvia, Austria, Norway , the Sultanate of Oman, Russia, South Africa  and Sweden.

His Excellency Sultan Muhammad Khalifa Al Yahyai said  tha in line with the directives of the wise leadership, the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club has allocated many runs for children, adolescents (juniors) and young riders, as the Emirate of Sharjah, thankfully, won for the second time in a row the United Nations Children’s Fund prize for Child- and Adolescent-Friendly cities, which is the highest global award given to honour the pioneering initiatives presented by child-friendly cities, in conjunction with the celebration of International Children’s Day, celebrated on November 20 each year to promote international cooperation in promoting child well-being.
