Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) is actively participating in the 5th edition of the "Desert Police Park Festival 2024”, taking place in the Al Kahif area of Al Batayeh.

The department's involvement encompasses various administrations and centres, such as the Department of Social Education, Senior Services Centre, Child and Family Protection Centre, Family Gathering Centre, Production Centre, and Sharjah Volunteer Centre.

The festival is characterised by a charming traditional and folk ambiance, with the events and programmes drawing inspiration from this rich heritage. According to Maitha Awad from the Department of Social Education, their participation in this significant event is rooted in their belief in the importance of social unity and community collaboration with other institutions and departments in the emirate. Additionally, it serves the purpose of familiarising the public with the department's services and year-round programmes.

Maitha Awad further explained that the department will conduct approximately six daily workshops during the festival, running from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. These workshops focus on prevention, protection, and social awareness, including sessions for children addressing topics such as bullying and volunteering. Furthermore, there are workshops emphasising tolerance and a sense of belonging.
